Exciting Launch of the “Little Kids Investment Experience” Program
In light of rising interest rates in Japan, reaching their highest levels in 30 years, there is an increasing interest in asset formation and investment among families. The recent considerations for tax reforms aimed at encouraging asset formation for children and youths, such as the permanent expansion of Junior NISA, highlight the urgent need for financial education for the younger generation.
To address this demand, the Japan Children's Survival Skills Development Association, led by Director Koji Miura, has decided to host a pre-launch event for a new experiential financial education content called “Let’s Grow Money Through Games! Little Kids Investment Experience.” This program is targeted at children aged 4 to 8 and their parents, and aims to teach them the fundamentals of money and investment through interactive games and workshops.

In addition to this program for preschoolers, the Kids Money School also offers the “Kids Investment Challenge” aimed at older students from lower-middle school to upper-grades, focusing on more practical aspects of investing and asset formation.
Learning Through Games in the Kids Investment Challenge
In the Kids Investment Challenge, children gain insights into the investment mechanisms and fundamental concepts of asset formation through enjoyable hands-on experiences. They learn about essential investment actions such as “concentrated investments,” “diversified investments,” and “timely selling” through game-based formats. Participants have expressed appreciation, stating, “I realized that even one yen is valuable,” and “I will be more careful with the money my parents earn.” Parents noted, “I didn’t know how to effectively teach my children about money, so this was extremely helpful.”
Future Developments: Expanding Financial Education Across Regions
The Japanese government aims to increase the percentage of individuals receiving financial education from 7% to 20% by the end of fiscal year 2028, predicting an ongoing demand for finance-related education. In response, Kids Money School plans to expand and enhance its educational offerings, making them accessible to more children across the country.
In addition to increasing the number of events nationwide, the school is dedicated to providing learning opportunities for children in less accessible regions through enhanced online programs, ensuring a level playing field in financial education regardless of location.
