Amazon Housing Fund Acknowledged as 2026 Affordable Housing Champion

On June 4, 2026, True Ground Housing Partners proudly announced the Amazon Housing Fund as its 2026 Affordable Housing Honoree. This accolade will be celebrated during the annual Celebrate Home! benefit, one of the premier events dedicated to the affordable housing sector. The honoree will be formally recognized on October 15, 2026, at the prestigious Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia.

Collaborative Impact on Affordable Housing

Over the years, True Ground and Amazon have fostered a robust partnership that's significantly accelerated affordable housing development, directly benefiting hundreds of families in the Washington D.C. area. The Amazon Housing Fund has made considerable investments in various True Ground communities, including notable projects like Terwilliger Place, The Exchange at Spring Hill Station, and the under-construction Sweeney community, just a stone's throw away from Amazon's HQ2 in Arlington.

One of the recent highlights includes a substantial $56 million investment by the Amazon Housing Fund in The Exchange at Spring Hill Station, a 516-unit development slated for completion in 2027. Amazon's backing was pivotal in enhancing affordability at Terwilliger Place, a project completed in 2022, which allowed for the creation of 26 deeply affordable apartments. Such projects face significant financing challenges but are crucial in addressing the region's most pressing housing demands. For The Sweeney, Amazon's contribution also encompasses donated land, offering 432 homes, a crucial part of a larger initiative expected to exceed 600 homes when fully developed.
