Bulgin Expands Its Hybrid Buccaneer Connectors With 6000 Series for Enhanced Power and Signal Transmission

Bulgin Unveils 6000 Series Hybrid Buccaneer Connectors

Bulgin, a prominent player under the Infinite Electronics umbrella and known for its expertise in environmentally sealed connectors, has announced a significant enhancement to its product line with the introduction of the new 6000 Series Hybrid Buccaneer connectors. This new series effectively combines power and signal connectivity in a single robust interface, designed to cater to the growing demands for compact connectivity solutions in smaller devices such as test equipment, sensors, and control systems.

Addressing Space Constraints

As modern technology trends lean towards miniaturization, the need for hybrid solutions that occupy minimal space while delivering robust performance has never been more critical. The Hybrid Buccaneer connectors are engineered to meet this challenge by integrating both power and signal channels into one connector. This not only saves space but also eliminates the complexity of separate wiring for power and signal, simplifying the design requirements for engineers.

Key Features

The 6000 Series incorporates two central power contacts rated at 16 A, along with signal contacts capable of handling 3 A. This flexible design allows for various configurations, providing options for two, four, or six signal contacts, thus making it adaptable to meet specific application needs. The connectors maintain the well-established durability and locking mechanism found in previous Buccaneer series, ensuring reliability even in demanding environments.

Mark Berry, Vice President of Product Management at Infinite Electronics, highlighted the importance of this innovation by stating, "The modern design landscape necessitates compact solutions without sacrificing performance. The hybrid design of the Buccaneer 6000 showcases our engineering team's precision in delivering high current power and signal channels within a single sealed interface that can withstand harsh conditions."

Robust Construction and Testing

Maintaining IP68 protection rating, these connectors have undergone rigorous testing—verified to function at depths of up to 10 meters for two weeks—making them reliable in the most challenging and wet environments. Additionally, they’ve passed tests for resistance against salt spray, dust, and temperature fluctuations, reinforcing their suitability for use in various industrial scenarios.

Showcase at Electronica 2026

To educate potential customers about these advancements, Bulgin will display the 6000 Series Hybrid Buccaneer connectors at Electronica 2026, scheduled from November 10-13, in booth 241, located in Hall A3. This event will also feature other innovative solutions tailored for data centers, renewable energy, drones, and industrial automation.
