The celebrated series Military Makeover with Montel® is set to unveil its 42nd season, featuring the inspiring journey of the Kosto family in Vail, Arizona. This season aims to honor the remarkable service and sacrifice of Matt Kosto, a dedicated Air Force veteran who has dedicated two decades to safeguarding our nation. The transformation process began on March 12 and will culminate with the home reveal on March 23, 2025.

Veteran's Journey
Matt Kosto's path to the military was fueled by a legacy of service, having grown up in a family of veterans in Northwest Oregon. His passion for service was sparked by an inspiring high school teacher, leading him to enlist right before graduating. What started as a four-year commitment evolved into an extraordinary career where he retired as a Master Sergeant with expertise in aircraft maintenance and engineering. His duty took him to various deployment sites, including military operations in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Afghanistan, underscoring his deep commitment to his country.
During a pivotal deployment in Alaska, Matt's leadership shone brightly as he responded to a catastrophic C-17 crash. He provided critical support under extreme weather conditions, embodying the spirit of service and sacrifice.

Overcoming Personal Challenges
Following his military career, Matt encountered yet another challenge—a motorcycle accident in 2021 led to the loss of his right leg below the knee. Despite facing ongoing health issues, including complications that necessitated a second surgery, his tenacity remained unwavering. Today, he serves as an Air Force Engineering and Technical Service Equipment Specialist, demonstrating resilience and fortitude in adapting to his new reality.

Amidst these trials, Matt's wife, Virginia, has been a source of immense strength. Her battle with stage 4 cancer in 2020 shifted the family's focus towards her recovery. As she completed treatment and regained her health, the Kosto family found the strength to navigate their challenges together, embodying a spirit of resilience.
