The excitement is brewing in Western Japan as the Board Game Business Expo Japan 2026 (BGBE2026) prepares to take place at Intex Osaka on January 31 and February 1, 2026. Organized by ReAkku, a leading creator in the gaming industry, this year's festival promises to be the largest yet, targeting an impressive turnout of 20,000 attendees over the two days.

The Venue and Timing


BGBE2026 will offer a full range of analog games, including board games, murder mysteries, and tabletop RPGs, creating an immersive entertainment space that attracts both children and adults alike. The event kicks off on January 31 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and concludes on February 1 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. An exclusive Business Time is set for both days from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, dedicated to B2B negotiations.

International Participation


In a significant expansion, this year's expo will feature over 300 exhibitors, including notable participants from countries like Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. This initiative not only supports local gaming culture but also serves as a hub for international exchange.

Highlights of the Event


1. An All-Inclusive Entertainment Experience: Attendees can engage with the latest and most popular board games from across Japan. The expo will showcase new releases and international games, allowing visitors to enjoy hands-on experiences at playtables. For tech enthusiasts, a virtual reality section will offer an innovative VR board game experience, alongside zones for popular games like Molkky and a myriad of other interactive activities, including mystery-solving challenges and art exhibitions. Food lovers can savor local delicacies from food trucks, adding to the festival's enjoyable environment.

2. Expanding Game Listings: Currently, 246 games are registered for sale during the expo, with continuous updates available on the dedicated website, Board Game Bear.

3. Information Hub Connecting Japan and the World: The expo will feature booths dedicated to international board game events and travel information, assisting creators aiming to enter overseas markets. Additionally, domestic exhibitors from Hokkaido to Kyushu will showcase local gaming events, reflecting Japan's diverse game culture.

In a pioneering effort for board game events in Japan, BGBE2026 introduces a dedicated B2B negotiation platform. This feature aims to encourage trade and collaboration between exhibitors, local creators, and international businesses.
