The 6th China International Consumer Products Expo Kicks Off in Hainan with Canada as Guest Country

The 6th China International Consumer Products Expo: A Celebration of Global Brands

On April 13, 2026, the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) officially opened its doors in Haikou, Hainan province. Marking the first large-scale exhibition held during the 15th Five-Year Plan and the first significant event since the launch of Hainan's free trade port customs policies, this year’s expo is more international than ever.

With international exhibits accounting for 65% of the total offerings, over 3,400 brands from more than 60 countries and regions graced the event. This grand participation highlights Hainan's expansive vision and diverse cooperation opportunities.

Spanning an impressive 143,000 square meters—an increase of 13,000 square meters from the last edition—the expo buzzed with activity. Canada, this year's Guest Country of Honor, brought along its largest delegation to date, comprising nearly 40 companies. Twelve countries, including Switzerland and the Czech Republic, sent official delegations, while first-time participants like Russia and Bulgaria presented their own country pavilions.

The expo attracted around 65,000 professional buyers, fueled by a packed schedule of product launches and events that showcased supply and demand dynamics. Thanks to the zero-tariff policy and simplified trading regulations of the free trade port, goods from abroad were smoothly customs-cleared, enabling immediate sales at the expo. A dedicated duty-free shopping zone allowed attendees to take home their purchases instantly.

The National High-tech Industry Development Zone of Haikou displayed over 300 products from 43 local enterprises, spotlighting advancements in healthcare and high-tech manufacturing. More than 200 new products made their debut, including AI-powered smart glasses, modular flying cars, and the world premiere of a high-tech wellness chair. Noteworthy industry giants like Huawei, Estée Lauder, and TCP Group returned, accompanied by many first-time exhibitors.

This robust participation reflects global confidence in China's consumer market and Hainan's increasing openness. To convert exhibitors into long-term investors, a global conference promoting industrial investments and specialized matchmaking events for multinational corporations were organized. Several companies, including Swiss firm Clinique Lémanic, signed agreements on-site to expand their presence in Hainan.

As we look ahead, the 6th CICPE stands out as a testament to the growing integration of global markets, offering an excellent platform for networking, innovation, and collaboration. With Hainan emerging as a focal point for global trade, stakeholders from various sectors will undoubtedly benefit from the event’s rich offerings and collaborative spirit.

This year's expo is not only a showcase of consumer products but also a significant opportunity for businesses to forge new partnerships and explore expansive market possibilities in one of China's most progressive regions. The event continues until April 17, promising to unveil further exciting developments in the world of consumer goods.
