Vote for the Wahl® Benevolent Beards Contest and Make a Difference

Wahl® Benevolent Beards Contest: A Celebration of Goodwill

The Wahl® Benevolent Beards Contest is back for its fourth year, showcasing the wonderful contributions of bearded men across the nation who blend grooming with altruism. This unique contest allows participants to submit videos that highlight their charitable efforts, aiming not just for personal glory but to make the world a little better.

How It Works

In a captivating competition, five finalists are selected from a plethora of entries based not only on their grooming skills but also on their impactful charitable work. The winner, determined by public voting, will claim a grand prize of $5,000 for themselves and $20,000 to donate to their chosen charity. This year, the voting window is open until September 12, 2025, and can be accessed online at Benevolent Beards Contest.

Meet the Finalists

This contest features five remarkable finalists, each with a heartwarming story that exemplifies the spirit of community service:

1. Jesse Presson (Charlottesville, VA)
A U.S. Army veteran, Jesse has turned his struggles with PTSD and a traumatic brain injury into a passionate mission for awareness. Leveraging his experiences, he now works with the Hyperbaric Wellness Foundation, striving to ensure that all veterans have access to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, especially those who need it most.

2. Kevin Simmons (Gainesville, GA)
A dedicated pediatric speech pathologist, Kevin volunteers as a sensory barber through ConnectAbility, creating a safe and comforting haircutting experience for children with disabilities. His efforts directly cater to the needs of the children he serves, alleviating the anxiety often associated with traditional haircuts.

3. Ryan Saunders (Seattle, WA)
Serving as the managing director of the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY), Ryan empowers young filmmakers from various socio-economic backgrounds. His initiative fosters collaboration and mentorship among aspiring artists, advocating for diversity and inclusion in the film industry.

4. Miguel Delvalle (Hartford, CT)
After overcoming homelessness, Miguel opened a barbershop, which became a hub for community service. His 'No Hair Left Behind' initiative offers free haircuts to homeless individuals, while the Scissors Society he established works to broaden access to grooming and style for all.

5. Darren Thompson (Washington, D.C.)
As a community advocate, Darren established the East River Dog Park Group to provide outdoor spaces for socializing in underserved neighborhoods. His work has led to various community enhancement projects that focus on improving quality of life for residents.
