Spain Fusion: The Premium Experience in Tokyo
Spain Fusion has established itself as a prominent event in the culinary scene, and for the third consecutive year, it will be hosted in Tokyo. This year's event will take place on June 2, 2026, at the prestigious JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, located in the new landmark of Takanawa Gateway City.
Organized by Vocento Gastronomía, the event aims to promote Spanish food products on an international scale, supported by the Foods and Wines from Spain. Spain Fusion serves as a platform where top Spanish chefs and food experts are dispatched globally to showcase the allure of Spanish ingredients to strategic export markets.
This premium edition is specially curated for Tokyo, welcoming up to 70 influential professionals, including importers, distributors, retailers, chefs, hotel and restaurant representatives, and specialized journalists. Attendees will have the opportunity to savor high-quality Spanish products that the Japanese market highly values, including Iberico products, fine wines, and extra virgin olive oil. Through various demonstrations and fine dining tastings, participants will learn innovative ways to utilize these ingredients.
A round table discussion featuring all the chefs and moderator Benjamín Lana, Managing Director of Vocento Gastronomía and Director of Madrid Fusión, will also take place, further emphasizing the perspectives of the leading chefs. The participants include renowned chefs representing Spain, with a collective total of ten Michelin stars. Notable attendees include Nacho Manzano from the three-star restaurant Casa Marcial in Asturias, David Járnoz from El Molino de Urdániz, a two-star establishment in Navarra and Taipei, two-star chef Benito Gómez from Bardal in Málaga, and one-star chef David García from El Corral de la Morería in Madrid.
The event culminates with a meet-and-greet session, allowing attendees to network with certified restaurants and shops from Spain in Tokyo. Furthermore, the Economic and Commercial Section of the Spanish Embassy will host a gala dinner for VIP guests that evening, featuring dishes prepared by the ambassador chefs complemented by extra virgin olive oil and wines from Grandes Pagos del Olivar and Grandes Pagos de España.
Tokyo is recognized as one of the world's gastronomic capitals, where restaurant professionals and food enthusiasts place significant importance on the excellence, creativity, and innovation of ingredients, forming a foundational aspect of the city’s vibrant food culture. Not only does Tokyo boast numerous internationally acclaimed restaurants, but it also nurtures a rich culinary heritage, making it an ideal stage for introducing high-quality Spanish products.
The event's primary focus is to communicate the intrinsic charm and potential of Spanish cuisine and ingredients to Japanese professionals, rather than advertising personal restaurants or projects. Spain is a crucial market for Spanish agricultural and food products, with meat products, cheese, olive oil, and wine constituting a significant portion of exports to Japan. Notably, Spanish wines, extra virgin olive oils, and organic certified products gained popularity during the last Spain Fusion event and remain highly regarded in the Japanese market.
Vocento Gastronomía is committed to a comprehensive approach in targeting strategic markets, harnessing all available resources. The “Spain Fusion: The Premium Experience” event is a by-invitation-only exclusive occasion that lasts five hours and offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in show cooking, tastings, sampling, and direct dialogues with chefs and food experts.
The program will feature presentations on Northern Spanish traditional dishes by chefs Nacho Manzano and David Járnoz, while David García will introduce Basque cuisine. Benito Gómez will showcase the ingredients and recipes from Southern Spain based in Málaga. Each presentation will include tasting opportunities for the guests.
Additionally, the chefs and experts will engage in discussions about the latest trends in Spanish cuisine under the guidance of Benjamín Lana, enriching the experience of all present.
