ALPFA Announces 2026 Scholarship Recipients

On October 1, 2026, during the ALPFA Convention, ALPFA proudly announced the recipients of its 2026 Student Scholarship Program, granting an impressive total of $1.4 million to 334 outstanding students. This initiative underscores ALPFA's commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders who are set to make a significant impact in various fields across North America.

The 2026 scholarship recipients were recognized for their exceptional academic achievements, leadership qualities, and dedication to making a lasting difference in their communities. Scholarships ranged from $2,500 to $10,000, reflecting ALPFA's continual effort to improve access to higher education and professional opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.

Impact in Action

The 2026 Scholarship Program stood out with its allocation of funds to students representing 122 colleges and universities across 31 states. Notably, 240 first-generation college students and 203 individuals from 52 Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) were among the recipients, thus showcasing the program's extensive reach and support for communities in need.

Damian Rivera, ALPFA's President and CEO, emphasized the importance of cultural identity in education, stating, "We want every student to envision a future where their culture and professional journey intertwine, and where their identity serves as a source of strength as they evolve. These scholarships help pave that pathway to educational access and professional development. Investing in these students is investing in the leaders who will shape a brighter future for all of us."

The ALPFA scholarship program is designed to eliminate economic barriers that hinder access to higher education. Besides financial aid, it connects students with a nationwide network of mentors, collaborating companies, and professional development opportunities. The program is open to students from all fields and backgrounds, provided they meet the academic and enrollment criteria. Beyond academic excellence, awardees are recognized for their leadership, community service, resilience, and dedication to progress.

Maria V. Fernández, Director of Student Programs at ALPFA, shared her insights, stating, "Our commitment to investing in our students' education is a promise to the dreams of our community. Education is a powerful change agent capable of transforming a student's life trajectory and creating ripples of impact far beyond any financial award. When we invest in them, we invest in the lives they will touch and the generations to come. This is how a scholarship transcends financial support; it becomes a legacy of opportunity."

Diverse Scholarship Recipients

With over 1,400 applications, the 2026 scholarship recipients represent a vibrant array of emerging leaders who bring their unique experiences, ambitions, and perspectives into the academic and professional realms. Their studies span various disciplines, including business administration, engineering, healthcare, technology, and more, highlighting the depth and diversity of multicultural talent represented in higher education.

Students have expressed how impactful these scholarships have been in their lives. Daniela Correa from Hult International Business School shared, “They have given me more than a scholarship; they’ve provided me the confidence to push forward, knowing that I'm not just building a career but also paving the way for others who will follow my steps.” Similarly, Lorelys Álvarez from Lehman College CUNY noted, “Beyond the financial support, this recognition reminds us that effort, perseverance, and community involvement matter. Thanks to ALPFA, I’ve developed valuable leadership skills, formed meaningful relationships, and accessed opportunities that have shaped my career path.”

Shaping Future Pathways

ALPFA's 2026 Student Scholarship Program's success is made possible by the generous support of partners whose commitments allow ALPFA to grant $1.4 million to aspiring leaders. Their investment goes beyond financial aid; it empowers these students to chase their aspirations, harness their strengths, and translate their potential into substantial professional impacts.

This year, eight scholarship recipients were also chosen to participate in training programs, expanding their investment through ongoing professional development, mentorship, and real-world experiences. Together, these opportunities prepare the next generation of professionals to contribute, lead, and influence the future dynamics of the workforce.

Scholarships are just one of the many ways ALPFA invests in future leaders.
