BE OPEN Makes Its Debut at the 4th Annual Asia Sustainability Week Conference
BE OPEN's Participation at Asia Sustainability Week 2025
On March 25, 2025, BE OPEN marked its debut at the Asia Sustainability Week held in Bangkok, Thailand. This notable conference is part of a series of global discussions aimed at advancing sustainability, organized by The Economist Group. Since its establishment, the event has become a central hub for experts and leaders dedicated to environmental issues, and this year attracted more than 900 delegates from across Asia and beyond.
With the theme focusing on transitioning to sustainable practices, the conference commenced with keynote addresses from high-ranking officials, including representatives from Thailand’s Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Industry. The discussions covered critical topics such as the promotion of eco-friendly vehicles, incentives for adopting sustainable consumption through subsidized financing, and strategies to help Asian manufacturers meet net-zero emissions goals.
One of the highlights of the conference was BE OPEN's commitment to fostering connections among businesses, investors, and innovators. Elena Baturina, founder of BE OPEN, highlighted the importance of collaboration in her speech: "We are delighted to participate in an event that connects various stakeholders aiming for a more sustainable future. Each year, we collect exceptional creative projects from young individuals around the world for our sustainability contests and strive to promote these initiatives in both public and private sectors. By educating and inspiring the youth, we empower them to become leaders of sustainable change."
BE OPEN, since its inception, has been dedicated to discovering and addressing the evolving needs of future generations. The organization provides a platform for young entrepreneurial leaders to develop their potential while working towards innovation, design, and enhancement of our planet. Baturina further emphasized BE OPEN's belief in the power of human creativity to transcend barriers and the organization’s mission to share insights and inspire cutting-edge advancements emerging from Asia.
Through its initiatives, BE OPEN aims to cultivate creativity and innovation, supporting ideas and people that will build sustainable solutions for tomorrow. It fosters an environment where youth can express their visions and engage with professionals in constructive dialogues, thus nurturing their confidence and comprehension of their roles in promoting sustainability.
As the discussions and networking sessions concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and direction towards achieving sustainability goals across the region. This year's Asia Sustainability Week not only marked a significant occasion for BE OPEN's involvement but also underscored the collaborative efforts necessary to address global environmental challenges. Eliminating barriers and encouraging innovative thinking among young leaders can pave the way to a greener future, fulfilling the mission of organizations like BE OPEN in a world increasingly focused on sustainability.
With the ongoing support from philanthropists like Elena Baturina, BE OPEN continues to advocate for transformative change, uniting various entities around a shared vision for a sustainable future and inspiring the next generation of innovators and leaders.
