EU to Showcase Premium Foods at Tokyo Big Sight in April 2026

EU's Showcase at Premium Food Show 2026

The European Union (EU) is set to participate in the upcoming Premium Food Show 2026, scheduled from April 15 to 17, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight. This event aims to introduce Japanese consumers to the rich variety and quality of EU-produced food and beverages, highlighting their compatibility with Japanese culinary traditions under the promotional campaign titled “Perfect Match!”. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste and experience a selection of EU organic products, fostering a deeper understanding of the unique culinary heritage from various European regions along with the shared production standards and regulations upheld by the EU.

As the world's largest exporting region, the EU emphasizes high quality, safety, and sustainability in its food and beverage offerings, playing a crucial role in the global food market.

Special Seminar Program

During the event, the EU will present a special seminar entitled “The Future of Food Through EU Organics: Exploring Sustainable Food Possibilities in Japan.” Scheduled for April 16, the seminar will take place at Tokyo Big Sight, East Hall 8, in the joint seminar and event zone from 3:00 PM to 3:40 PM. Amidst growing interest in the organic market in Japan, particularly under the guidance of the SDGs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' green food system strategy, this seminar will delve into the market trends in the organic sector within the EU, exploring certification systems and practical initiatives. It will also discuss consumer shifts from prioritizing health and safety to focusing on environmental and ethical concerns, thereby contemplating the potential for sustainable food development in the Japanese market, while offering insights on how businesses can remain competitive.

Notable speakers for the seminar include Keisuke Komori, CEO of All Farm, and Megumi Kobayashi, Senior Trade Officer at the Delegation of the European Union to Japan. Mr. Komori practices a sustainable approach through his chemical-free, non-pesticide farming, and operates the organic restaurant “We Are the Farm” in Tokyo. Meanwhile, Ms. Kobayashi brings her expertise in EU food policy and trade, shedding light on collaborative efforts between Japan and the EU.
