Associated Banc-Corp to Host Its Fourth Annual Day of Service with 2600 Employees Volunteering
Associated Banc-Corp's Fourth Annual Day of Service
Associated Banc-Corp, a prominent bank holding company based in Wisconsin, is gearing up for its fourth annual Day of Service scheduled for June 23-25. This annual initiative will see around 2,600 of its employees volunteer their time and skills with over 200 nonprofit organizations across the states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and for the first time, Iowa and Nebraska. The inclusion of these states comes after the bank's recent merger with American National Corporation and its subsidiary, American National Bank, underlining the bank's commitment to fostering community ties.
The Day of Service, which has been a growing tradition since its inception, particularly emphasizes critical community needs, with this year's focus squarely on food security and youth services. As documented by Feeding America, nearly 14 million children face food insecurity nationwide—a situation worsened during summer months when schools do not provide meals.
During this three-day community-focused event, Associated Bank employees will engage in various volunteer activities. Tasks will vary from repacking food at local food banks to supporting educational and summer programs tailored for the youth, promoting community gardening and cleanup projects, and executing other initiatives that are shaped by local market needs.
In addition to volunteer work, Associated Banc-Corp is also contributing $13,400 in community grants to 11 local nonprofits. These grants are generated to enhance organizations that are active in food access, housing stability, youth development, and essential community services. LaDonna Reed, Senior Vice President and Director of Community Accountability for Associated Bank, highlights that this event manifests the company’s essence and its commitment to the communities they serve, stating, "Day of Service has always been about more than a single day; it's a reflection of who we are as a company and how we show up for the communities we serve."
Moreover, ahead of the Day of Service, all Associated Bank branches will host another initiative called Stock the Box™, a public food drive running from June 3 to June 19. Community members can join the effort by donating non-perishable food items at local banks, which will go directly to regional food pantries and nonprofit partners.
Since its establishment in 2023, the Day of Service initiative has progressively grown. By the end of 2025, it has amassed over 20,500 volunteer hours and contributed a service value exceeding $687,000 to the community. In the previous year alone, approximately 2,400 employees participated, volunteering at 182 nonprofit organizations across 104 cities, illustrating the company’s robust spirit of volunteerism.
The Day of Service also ties into Associated Banc-Corp's broader community engagement strategy. Their $2 billion Community Commitment Plan aims to provide significant loans and investments that boost community development and supports charitable contributions to help families and neighborhoods thrive.
