Good+Foundation Welcomes Anthony Tassi as New CEO
The Good+Foundation, a prominent nonprofit organization established by Jessica Seinfeld, has recently appointed Anthony Tassi as its new Chief Executive Officer. With a commitment to abolishing multi-generational poverty, the foundation marks its 25th anniversary this year. It is renowned for pairing essential goods with innovative services aimed at supporting under-resourced families across the nation. Tassi's appointment comes at a pivotal time, especially considering recent challenges, such as cuts in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and increasing healthcare costs.
Over his two-decade-long career, Tassi has distinguished himself within both nonprofit and government sectors. His experience encompasses direct engagement with communities, policy development, and the facilitation of systems-level changes, all of which align closely with the Good+Foundation’s mission and values. Jessica Seinfeld, the founder and Board Chair of the foundation, expressed her enthusiasm: "We are thrilled to welcome Anthony Tassi as our new CEO. His impressive track record in expanding parent education programs across the country and cultivating transformative partnerships makes him an ideal fit for our mission."
Before joining the Good+Foundation, Tassi led Literacy Partners, where he orchestrated a significant transformation and rebranding of a 40-year-old adult education program. His focus was to support low-income and immigrant parents, emphasizing children's early learning and school readiness. During his tenure, the organization produced Emmy-winning television content in collaboration with Univision, effectively reaching and educating millions. Notably, former US Assistant Secretary of Education, Susan Neuman, recognized Tassi's work as “uniquely effective among parenting programs, particularly those targeting Spanish-speaking audiences.”
Tassi conveyed his excitement for the role: "I couldn't be more honored and excited to join Good+Foundation during this significant moment, especially when low-income families are in dire need of support. Enhancing the quality of life for these families is paramount, particularly with a focus on engaging fathers in the process."
His previous roles include a Health Policy Advisor and the founding Executive Director of Adult Education within the NYC Mayor's Office under Mike Bloomberg, where he led comprehensive strategic planning across multiple city agencies, resulting in improved educational outcomes and increased funding for educational initiatives.
As a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University, Tassi brings not only expertise but also a deep understanding of the challenges faced by families today. He resides in New York City with his partner and teenage daughter.
