The Flat Book Club is envisioned as a closed yet open platform where people can come together to explore and discuss various cultural contents, fostering a unique community centered around reading and dialogue.

Toshinao Sasaki, a distinguished writer and information curator, has been integral to this project. With over 15 years of experience in news curation and four and a half years of sharing insights through media platforms, he believes that value now lies in smaller, more intimate communities. His philosophy aligns with Oshirol, which has a track record of developing over 300 communities, focusing on nurturing relationships and insights through dialogue.

Born in 1961 in Hyogo, he moved on from Waseda University to join Mainichi Shimbun, where he covered significant stories such as the Aum Shinrikyo incident. He transitioned to Ascii a decade later to deepen his insights into the IT field, eventually establishing himself as a versatile commentator on technology and lifestyle. Active in multiple locations including Tokyo and Karuizawa, he also serves on several advisory boards and continues to publish influential works.
