Goodfellows Innovates Group Booking Management with Webket Danyo
Goodfellows Co., Ltd., headquartered in Musashino, Tokyo, has officially launched
Webket Danyo, a cloud-based group booking management service, effective July 1, 2026. This innovative platform connects facility operators with travel agencies, streamlining a process that has historically relied on more manual methods such as phone calls, faxes, and emails.
The first facility to implement Webket Danyo is the
Hakone Ropeway, operated by the Odakyu Hakone Group. With the rise of digital solutions in various industry sectors, this new service aims to relieve operational burdens for both the facilities and the travel agencies involved. By centralizing and managing group bookings online, Webket Danyo promises efficiency and accuracy, significantly reducing human error risks.
What Webket Danyo Offers
Webket Danyo allows travel agencies to manage group bookings—making new reservations, modifying existing ones, and canceling—through an online platform. On the other side, facility operators gain access to real-time booking information management, which enhances their operational efficiency in handling group bookings.
This system builds upon previous efforts seen at the
2025 Osaka-Kansai World Expo, where it facilitated bookings for approximately 2 million people. As tourism and leisure companies grapple with labor shortages due to Japan's aging population and declining birthrate, many are still bogged down by traditional booking methods. Goodfellows’ existing management system,
YOYAQueen, has already provided support in streamlining these operations, and Webket Danyo expands this capability further by allowing real-time management of reservations.
Hakone Ropeway Adopts Webket Danyo
The launch of Webket Danyo started with the
Hakone Ropeway, which, having already adopted YOYAQueen, seeks to enhance its group booking operations. Prior to the system’s operational start in July, a joint online informational session was held by Goodfellows and Odakyu Hakone, attracting over 60 participants representing 33 travel agencies. Feedback indicated a strong interest in the functionalities provided by Webket Danyo.
Key Features of Webket Danyo
1.
Flexible Reservation Changes: Travel agencies can make changes to booking details up until the day before their scheduled date, accommodating fluctuations typical in group travel without incurring last-minute cancellation fees. However, it’s important to note that some conditions may vary based on individual facility policies.
2.
Comprehensive Online Management: Beyond checking reservation statuses, travel agencies are able to perform adjustments and cancelations directly online. This real-time integration ensures that updates appear immediately within the facility's management system, thereby removing the requirement for paper confirmations.
3.
Account Management for Organizations: The system utilizes a hierarchical structure with parent and child accounts, allowing for flexible configurations tailored to the size and structure of the organization.
Commentary from Hakone Ropeway
Yuji Kato, representing the Hakone Ropeway, stated that annual transportation numbers reached an all-time high of about 2.9 million passengers in fiscal 2025, with about 350,000 of these being group visitors. As inbound tourism has surged, especially from foreign travelers, the complexity and volume of group reservations have made traditional methods inefficient.
Kato emphasized that “Webket Danyo” could significantly streamline the entire group reservation process, enhancing operational efficiency while improving convenience for travel agencies, allowing for swift and accurate responses to booking needs. Furthermore, real-time notifications about maintenance or service disruptions will improve information sharing, thereby enhancing overall service quality.
Development Insights from Goodfellows
Toshihide Hanyu, from the System Development Department of Goodfellows, elaborated on the development of Webket Danyo. Feedback from various facilities indicated a strong desire for a more efficient group booking management system. The biggest challenge was standardizing diverse booking rules while ensuring flexibility across different operations. Integrating with YOYAQueen was a key design consideration, ensuring travel agencies can easily navigate and utilize the system’s capabilities. Our commitment to developing a user-friendly interface reflects our dedication to meeting the unique needs of both facilities and travel agencies, while fostering a collaborative environment for enhancing tourism through digital transformation.
