Join the 'Kamita Personal Encyclopedia'
The Itabashi Ward is launching a new and exciting project called the 'Kamita Personal Encyclopedia' facilitated by the Kamita Green Fund. This initiative has been designed as part of a larger effort to revitalize the area surrounding the South Exit of Kamitabashi Station following its redevelopment. The goal is to create a vibrant community that seamlessly blends the new environment with existing landscapes, fostering deeper connections among residents.
The essence of the 'Kamita Personal Encyclopedia' lies in capturing the essence of the people who live, have lived, or wish to live in Kamitabashi. Participants’ portraits will be created and displayed alongside their cherished memories and experiences, featured in places such as train stations and local shopping streets. By showcasing the stories and faces of those associated with Kamitabashi, this project intends to add warmth and exuberance to the area, sparking smiles and joy among visitors.
Currently, there’s an open call for
12 participants to join this enriching experience. Since its launch in 2023, the project has already completed its fourth iteration, receiving an overwhelming response during its first open recruitment held in mid-2022, where applications exceeded the available spots. As of now, around
25 individuals are participating, contributing to a beautifully diverse array of characters including local band members and vibrant community figures.
In appreciation of their participation, each individual will receive a printed version of their portrait as a keepsake after the project concludes.
