Thrust Capital Partners Expands Aerospace Footprint with ALPHACASTING Acquisition
Thrust Capital Partners Acquires ALPHACASTING
In a significant move for the aerospace and defense industry, Thrust Capital Partners (TCP), a Canadian private equity firm, has successfully acquired ALPHACASTING, a top provider of titanium and aluminum aerospace investment casting solutions. The deal, announced on July 15, 2026, marks a pivotal moment for TCP as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the aerospace sector.
ALPHACASTING, headquartered in Quebec since its inception in 1991, is renowned for its advanced manufacturing capabilities, producing high-complexity precision castings from a variety of alloys. It specializes particularly in high-strength aluminum and is recognized as the only foundry in Canada capable of titanium casting. This unique positioning gives ALPHACASTING an advantage in attracting clientele in the aerospace defense sectors.
Upon the acquisition, Louis Marc Pinard, formerly the Chief Operating Officer at APC (GE Aerospace), was appointed as CEO of ALPHACASTING. In his statement, Pinard expressed enthusiasm about joining the team at such a pivotal time, emphasizing the company’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth. "Alphacasting is a true Quebec industrial champion supported by a loyal global customer base," he stated, highlighting the value of the company’s skilled workforce and deep expertise in the field of precision investment castings.
Frederik Centazzo, who has been instrumental in the company’s growth alongside his father, Arduino Centazzo, will continue his association with ALPHACASTING as Vice President of Sales and Business Development. His ongoing involvement aims to ensure a smooth transition and leverage existing relationships in the precision casting ecosystem.
Frédéric Loiselle, a partner at TCP, commented on the importance of this acquisition, noting that the integration of TCP's resources and expertise would substantially enhance ALPHACASTING's operational capabilities. He expressed confidence that the merger would support the company’s trajectory in the competitive aerospace market.
Legal and financial guidance for the transaction was provided by Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP and KPMG LLP for TCP, while Spiegel Ryan LLP and MNP Corporate Finance Inc. assisted the sellers in navigating the complexities of this significant deal.
