Major Update Enhances Racing Experience in Project Motor Racing
On March 25, 2026, Sega rolled out a substantial update for its popular racing simulator,
Project Motor Racing, available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. This update marks a significant enhancement in gameplay, focusing on various aspects that elevate the player's experience to unprecedented levels.
Comprehensive Upgrades in Version 2.0
The update includes a complete overhaul of the user interface, significantly improving navigation, menu readability, setup processes, system functionalities, and race information accessibility. Changes were made to all vehicle classes, enhancing tire models, handling, and physics dynamics. Improvements to friction behavior, expanded force feedback, and a realistic collision mechanism offer players a thrilling and authentic driving experience like never before.
Additionally, the launch of an anti-cheat system starting April 1, 2026, further emphasizes online security, as does the improvement of the race participation process. Events will now include rankings for all vehicle classes, enabling more competitive engagements among players. Visual quality and performance enhancements were also implemented, combined with the latest update to the career mode where players can operate their racing teams with the introduction of real-life sponsors and podium ceremonies.

Introducing the Japanese GT500 Pack
On March 31, 2026, Sega will also launch the new downloadable content titled
Japanese GT500 Pack, featuring nine iconic Japanese GT cars and one circuit. This pack will allow players to delve into the thrilling world of the prestigious GT500 class, renowned for its high downforce and precise handling.
The
GT500 Pack includes five cutting-edge GT500 machines that promise stunning speed and performance: 2024 Honda Civic GT500, 2022 Honda NSX GT500, 2022 Nissan Calsonic Impul Z GT500, 2021 Nissan Motul Autech GT-R GT500, and 2022 Toyota GR Supra GT500. Additionally, vintage turbocharged engines and uniquely aerodynamic designs are featured in four classic vehicles from the All-Japan GT Championship era: 2003 Honda NSX JGTC, 2004 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33) JGTC, 2003 Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) JGTC, and 2002 Toyota Supra JGTC.
The pack also includes the
Takimiya Circuit, a layout celebrated for its technical challenges, allowing players to experience the excitement of Japanese GT racing fully. Whether you're chasing lap times or participating in multi-class races, the pack embodies the speed, tradition, and fervor of Japanese motor racing.
Price Revision and Ongoing Sales
As part of the new offerings, Sega has announced a price revision for Project Motor Racing starting April 8, 2026. With this change, players can also take advantage of ongoing sales across various platforms. This special pricing alongside the new major updates ensures that both newcomers and veterans can enjoy the simulator at an accessible cost.
It's important to note that Microsoft will implement the new pricing structure from April 16, 2026.
