Agoda and WWF's New Partnership
Agoda, a leading digital travel platform, has partnered with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to enhance nature conservation and promote sustainable tourism across Asia. The launch of the fifth edition of the 'Eco Deals' program signifies the five-year anniversary of their partnership and introduces a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that emphasizes collaboration over the next five years.
The Significance of Eco Deals
The 2026 edition of 'Eco Deals' includes a substantial financial commitment of $1.5 million to support nature conservation initiatives across ten Asian markets. With the new MoU in place, Agoda and WWF plan to accelerate efforts to promote conservation, raise traveler awareness, and fortify industry-wide sustainable tourism initiatives.
The program kicks off on January 19, 2026, with an inaugural promotional campaign offering discounts of up to 20% at participating properties for a month. Following the initial promotion, the program will continue as an annual initiative until December 18, featuring discounts of up to 15%. Travelers will easily locate Eco Deals participating accommodations through dedicated pages and identifiers on Agoda’s platforms. As has been customary, $1 will be donated to WWF's conservation efforts for every booking made at an Eco Deals property.
Growing Impact
Eco Deals provides a mechanism for accommodation partners throughout Asia to contribute to the preservation of local natural environments and biodiversity. By 2025, the program anticipates expanding its participating properties to nearly 10,000, reflecting its steady growth since its inception in 2022. To date, a total of $2.89 million has been donated to various conservation projects, including initiatives for the protection of Malayan tigers in Malaysia, conservation of Asian elephants in Thailand, and safeguarding whale sharks in the Philippines. These efforts contribute to achieving the 'Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework’ goal of conserving 30% of the Earth’s land and marine areas by 2030.
Participating properties will receive an 'Eco Deals Badge' to signify their commitment to conservation. In addition, Agoda will support marketing efforts through banner ads, customer communications, social media promotions, and in-app features. After the program concludes, participating properties will be awarded certificates recognizing their contributions.
