Specialty Food Association Invites New Leadership for 2026-2027

On June 25, 2026, the Specialty Food Association (SFA) revealed the new team of experienced leaders and fresh faces that will guide its governing board in the upcoming term. Having undergone a voting process in the spring, members of this renowned non-profit organization approved the new Board Officers and Directors during SFA's Annual Member Meeting.

The newly assembled Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 term features a mix of returning and new members:
  • - Board Chair: Scott Jensen, Kosmos Q
  • - Vice Chair: Dwight Richmond, Town & Country Markets
  • - Treasurer: Harrison Kahn, Vermont Creamery
  • - Secretary: Victoria Ho, Sherpa CPG
  • - Immediate Past Chair: Pierre Abushacra, Firehook

Expressing his pride in assuming the role of Chair, Scott Jensen stated: “I am honored to lead an organization that plays a vital role for its members.” He added that both emerging brands and established players rely on SFA for education, growth resources, and networking opportunities, and he is committed to enhancing these services.

SFA functions as a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt body, which means its Board of Directors plays a crucial role in the oversight and governance of the organization. All Board members are typically engaged directors or executives within SFA’s member companies, ensuring a robust representation of the industry's interests.

Alongside the newly elected officers, five additional directors were appointed to contribute fresh perspectives. The new Directors include:
  • - Paul Abbott of Millpress Imports
  • - Carolyn Hardy of Hardy Beverages LLC
  • - Jessie Kimsey of Misfits Market
  • - Alejandro Piasecki of Seal the Seasons
  • - Bill Zappas of European Imports

Scott Jensen and Dwight Richmond have been re-elected to their previous positions, ensuring continuity and stability on the board.

Each of these directors will serve a three-year term, extending through June 2029. The continuation of certain directors is also noteworthy:
  • - Class of 2026-2027: Pierre Abushacra (Firehook), Sarah Masoni (Oregon State University Food Innovation Center), James Ren (GoodSAM), Rodd Willis (BeyondBrands), Loralie Holly (Nuevo Garcia Foods)
  • - Class of 2027-2028: Heather Brand (GoodPop), Lucia Conejo-Mir (Ines Rosales USA, LLC), Victoria Ho (Sherpa CPG), Harrison Kahn (Vermont Creamery)

In addition to directing efforts, SFA has appointed 35 members to serve on various councils and committees for the coming year. These groups will help shape the Association’s approach to priority services and programs, encompassing areas like membership, trade shows, educational opportunities, buyer engagement, community building, and promoting inclusion and belonging amongst members.

The Specialty Food Association, founded in 1952, represents a diverse community of over 4,200 businesses in the $219 billion specialty food industry. Its primary goal is to champion member success and community engagement by producing significant events like the Summer Fancy Food Show, Winter FancyFaire*, and the sofi™ Awards, which recognize excellence in specialty foods and beverages each year.

With such a dynamic and engaged member base, SFA's leadership looks bright as they continue their work to foster a supportive environment for both established brands and emerging innovators. It’s clear that the 2026-2027 term is poised for impactful initiatives and continued success in the realm of specialty food.
