Museum of Illusions Invites Everyone to Celebrate STEM Day with Exciting Free Adventures

Celebrate STEM Day at Museum of Illusions

On the occasion of National STEM Day on November 8, the Museum of Illusions is inviting guests to engage in a thrilling adventure with their Illusion Quest, free of charge. Taking place from November 6 to 8 across participating locations in the U.S., this promotion offers a unique opportunity for visitors of all ages to indulge their curiosity and creativity while exploring the fascinating world of optical illusions.

What is Illusion Quest?

Illusion Quest is an exciting interactive hunt that transforms a typical museum visit into a fun challenge. Visitors participate by receiving a blue light and a clue sheet at check-in. These tools help them uncover hidden letters scattered throughout eight popular exhibits in the museum. After collecting all the letters, guests get to unscramble them to unveil a mystery word related to the exhibits.

This engaging quest not only provides entertainment but also encourages families to observe the exhibits through the lens of symmetry, shapes, and problem-solving, key components of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Special Offer and Activities

In addition to the Illusion Quest, participants will receive a set of Brain Games coloring and activity sheets designed specifically for the occasion. These fall-themed worksheets include various engaging activities such as an Optical Illusion Turkey and a Leaf Symmetry Challenge, aimed at sparking inquiry and creativity among children. Completing the Brain Game sheet entitles kids to take home a free STEM.org Authenticated™ toy, making the experience even more rewarding.

Rob Cooper, the interim CEO of Museum of Illusions stated, "National STEM Day is the perfect moment to launch our newest activation, Illusion Quest. Families will look at our exhibits through the lens of symmetry, shape, and problem-solving, while enjoying a great time. It is a fun way to show that science, technology, engineering, and math are all around us – often hiding in plain sight."

A Commitment to STEM Education

The Museum of Illusions has been a proud participant in National STEM Day for three consecutive years, showcasing its ongoing dedication to imparting STEM education through immersive, hands-on experiences. In collaboration with STEM.org Educational Research™, the museum is recognized as a STEM.org Accredited™ Educational Experience and is among the Top 5% Best in STEM Organizations.

Exhibits like the Walk-in Kaleidoscope not only entertain guests but also provide tangible lessons in geometry, perception, and spatial reasoning. Moreover, the museum ensures that teachers can benefit from free admission by presenting a valid ID, making it a convenient educational field trip for schools.
