Institute for Professionals in Taxation Elects New Leadership for 2026-2027
On July 14, 2026, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) revealed the election results for its officers and Board of Governors for the upcoming 2026-2027 term during its Annual Meeting of Members. This important event took place on June 23, 2026, in the beautiful setting of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The newly elected officers comprise a distinguished team committed to steering IPT through its next phase of initiatives. Jeffrey S. McGhehey, CMI, from The Home Depot, will serve as the President, bringing extensive industry knowledge and leadership experience. He will be supported by First Vice President Jan A. Nash, CMI, from Tyson Foods, Inc., and Second Vice President Joshua E. Estes, CMI, Esq., of Estes Banks, PC. Together, this executive team aims to strengthen the organization’s mission and expand its reach within the professional community.
In addition to the officers, the IPT Board of Governors sees a fresh infusion of talent with the election of several new members who will serve three-year terms. Notable inclusions are Sandra J. Jacobs, CMI, from KPMG LLP, J. Kieran Jennings, CMI, Esq., CRE, from Siegel Jennings Co., L.P.A., and Joshua Sigmon, CMI, MBA, representing Compass Group USA. Their collective expertise will undoubtedly add considerable value to the governance of the institute.

This year marks a significant milestone for the Institute, celebrating its golden anniversary along with the 50th Annual Conference. As IPT looks to the future, the involvement of seasoned professionals on the Board signals a commitment to nurture the core values that IPT has upheld over the decades.
The 2026-2027 IPT Board of Governors will also include Montgomery E. Brantley, CMI; Rodney L. Cole, CMI; Kristina Friedman, CMI; Martin Guenther, CMI, MAI; Minah C. Hall, CCIP, Esq.; and Melissa J-L Myers, CMI. This diverse group reflects the dynamic nature of the taxation profession, paving the way for fresh ideas and the adaptation of educational programs tailored to member needs.
Founded in 1976, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to overseeing the uniform and equitable management of various taxation regimes including state and local property taxes, as well as sales and income taxes across the U.S. and Canada.
