Celebrating Five Years of Clayton Impact: A Journey of Community Contribution

Clayton® Celebrates Five Years of Clayton Impact®

Clayton®, a recognized leader in single-family housing construction, proudly celebrates the fifth anniversary of its impactful volunteer initiative, Clayton Impact®. This program, launched in 2021, has gained significant momentum, showcasing the company's dedication to making a difference in the communities where its employees live and work.

Making a Difference

Since its inception, the Clayton Impact program has enabled team members to dedicate their time to various volunteer activities. With over 375,000 volunteer hours logged, employees have contributed their efforts to support local initiatives across the United States. This remarkable figure is a testament to Clayton's commitment to fostering a culture of community involvement.

Clayton’s Director of Wellbeing and Impact, Sarah Jo Gregory, emphasized the importance of this program, stating, “This initiative began with the vision of empowering our team members to be a positive force in their local areas. Achieving this milestone illustrates our team’s dedication to making a tangible impact year after year.”

Team members throughout Clayton have showcased their commitment to giving back in numerous ways. For instance, employees from Clayton Bonham and Clayton Sulphur Springs joined forces with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 50 trees at Gray Branch Park in McKinney, Texas. In another instance, a group consisting of 93 employees from Sacramento, Albuquerque, and Buckeye worked with Rebuilding Together to repair homes and restore community spaces in the Southwest.

Significant Collaborations and Efforts

The volunteer initiatives also saw significant participation from Clayton’s Home Office, where 419 team members committed 1,676 hours working with Blount County Habitat for Humanity during 2023. Moreover, team members engaged in environmental efforts, where 198 of them removed over 23 tons of trash as part of the Tennessee River Grand Slam Cleanup Series in 2024. These examples highlight the diverse nature of the volunteer work undertaken by the Clayton community.

In celebration of the fifth anniversary, the company organized various resources and opportunities across more than 62 home building group locations, encouraging team members to engage in meaningful volunteerism. This inclusive approach has allowed individuals to connect with causes that resonate personally, enhancing the overall impact of their contributions.

Empowering Team Members

Having the freedom to choose where and how to volunteer is a cornerstone of the Clayton Impact initiative. The program offers employees paid volunteer time for initiatives that matter to them, thereby encouraging active participation. In 2025 alone, over 75% of Clayton’s more than 20,000 employees volunteered, representing a pivotal achievement compared to an average corporate volunteer participation rate of 33%.

Director of Philanthropy, Susan Brown, noted the program's influence, stating, “At Clayton, our core value of Do Good plays an essential role in our identity. Clayton Impact translates this value into action, enabling our team members to positively contribute to their communities.” Brown further recognized the hard work of teams nationwide and the lasting partnerships forged with nonprofit organizations.

Looking Ahead

As Clayton looks to the future, the ongoing impact of the volunteer initiatives remains a priority. The company’s commitment goes beyond mere celebration; it focuses on creating sustainable relationships with local nonprofits and continued engagement in community service.
