Okayama University Enhances Project Management Skills for Future Leaders
On December 5, 2025, Okayama University successfully conducted the second day of its
Project Management Fundamentals Training at the Tsushima Campus. This program is focused on nurturing individuals equipped to manage university operations effectively through project management skills. A total of 15 staff members attended, including seven deputy department heads, two technical staff from the Comprehensive Technology Department, and six administrative personnel.
The training is held in partnership with the
Project Management Institute Japan (PMI Japan), which aims to support the development of project management competencies within the educational setting. By merging these skills with their existing expertise in education, research, and administration, the initiative seeks to cultivate a new generation of leadership capable of steering university management.
Day 2 Overview
The second day of training featured esteemed speakers from PMI Japan, including
Leader Yukio Ishizuka and
Sub-leader Akio Torimoto, who guided participants through various project management methodologies. The session commenced with a review of the previous day's learnings, followed by practical exercises focusing on crafting a
Master Schedule to oversee project timelines.
Participants were organized into groups of three, where they collaboratively created a Master Schedule based on a hypothetical event called the
