Successful Commissioning of a 300 MW Energy Storage Station in China

Successful Launch of China’s Largest Energy Storage Station

On December 5, 2025, SINEXCEL achieved a significant milestone in the quest for sustainable energy by successfully commissioning the first phase of China's largest electrochemical energy storage station. This ambitious project boasts a substantial capacity of 300 MW and 1,200 MWh, and is expected to fundamentally enhance grid stability as well as facilitate the adoption of clean energy sources.

Project Overview

The energy storage station, strategically located in Shenzhen, China, represents the initial phase of a larger project that will ultimately comprise a 600 MW/2,400 MWh capacity. The facility is equipped with 240 battery containers and 60 prefabricated cabins. Once fully operational, the station will serve as a model for an integrated energy solution combining wind, solar, thermal energy sources, and storage.

Advanced Technology by SINEXCEL

SINEXCEL has contributed significantly to this project by supplying 60 prefabricated cabins, each fitted with 180 units of its 1,725 kW Power Conversion System (PCS). This advanced PCS technology achieves an impressive efficiency rate of 98.5% and employs cutting-edge multi-string technology that ensures enhanced battery protection. The system supports flexible configurations with 1, 2, 4, or 8 battery strings, making it an adaptable solution for various energy requirements.

The combined AC/DC output of the PCS simplifies integration and future expansion possibilities. Additionally, the cabinets are certified to IP54, ensuring reliability in outdoor conditions. The rapid response time of 10 ms for real-time grid balancing meets stringent compliance standards across North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, and China.

Global Impact and Future Endeavors

SINEXCEL has made a mark in over 40 countries, with more than 5,000 deployments spanning across the globe, providing over 12 GW of storage capacity primarily for utility-scale applications, commercial installations, and microgrids. The successful execution of pivotal projects like this clearly highlights SINEXCEL's technical prowess and its unwavering commitment to fostering a resilient and sustainable energy future.
