Discover the Future of 3D Printing at Okayama University
In an effort to foster innovation and creativity, Okayama University is hosting a comprehensive seminar titled "Introduction to 3D Printing! Hands-On Seminar for Building Basics" on August 5, 2025. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the KIBINOVE Collaborative Innovation Lab located on the Tsushima Campus.
This seminar, organized in partnership with BeLive and set within the context of the Okayama Digital Innovation Creation Platform (OI-Start), aims to provide participants with practical experience in 3D printing and 3D modeling. Attendees will learn not only the fundamental techniques but also the creative processes involved in bringing ideas to life using cutting-edge technology.
Event Schedule
- - 8:30 AM: Registration opens
- - 9:00 AM: Welcome and opening remarks
- - 9:10 AM - 12:00 PM: Hands-on sessions focusing on 3D printing and modeling, covering topics such as:
- Why is 3D printing gaining popularity?
- Basic operations of a 3D printer
- Understanding 3D modeling
- Creating a model to transform your ideas into tangible objects
- - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch break
- - 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Finalizing models and outputting to a 3D printer
- - 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Ideation session and tour of the Okayama Tech Garage, featuring innovations such as quadrupedal robots
- - 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Wrap-up session, closing remarks, and distribution of 3D printed creations
