Tokyo's Kyobashi District Redevelopment Receives Approval for Land Rights Conversion Plan

Important Announcement: Kyobashi District Redevelopment

Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. is proud to announce a key milestone in the Kyobashi 3-Chome East District's redevelopment project. This initiative has been a collaborative effort between stakeholders and local residents to revitalize the area with an eye toward modern urban needs.

On March 24, 2026, we received official approval from the Governor of Tokyo for our land rights conversion plan, enabling us to progress further in this transformative project. Construction planning began back in January 2017, leading up to urban planning decisions made in January 2023 and the establishment of a redevelopment association in April 2024. As a longstanding land owner and cooperative partner, Tokyo Tatemono has actively participated in the project from its inception, and we remain committed to enhancing urban vitality, especially at the junction of Kyobashi and Ginza.

Highlights of the Redevelopment Plan

The Kyobashi District Redevelopment encompasses several strategic improvements aimed at strengthening the overall infrastructure, enhancing public spaces, promoting cultural activities, and implementing effective disaster response measures. Below are the key points of the plan:

1. Enhancing Community Connectivity:
- A new underground pedestrian walkway will connect Kyobashi station with an expansion of the existing underground network leading to Tokyo Station. This will significantly improve accessibility and mobility for pedestrians, ensuring smoother transitions between transport facilities.
- Public spaces will be developed around the former Tokyo Expressway to create pedestrian-friendly environments that invite community interaction while providing access to green areas. The design includes spacious indoor plazas and vertical connections to facilitate movement between different levels.

2. Introducing Urban Amenities:
- The redevelopment will include facilities dedicated to art, craftsmanship, and cultural exchange, which will provide young artists with a platform to showcase their work while fostering an environment for collaboration and learning.
- High-standard hospitality services will be offered to cater to both international tourists and local professionals, further enhancing the district's appeal as a global business hub.

3. Strengthening Disaster Preparedness and Environmental Considerations:
- Spaces for temporary accommodations and emergency supplies will be incorporated to assist individuals during disasters, improving the area's resilience.
- An energy-efficient system combining co-generation and backup power will be established to ensure stable energy supply during emergencies.
