Afcons Infrastructure Limited has been recognized with the prestigious National Environmental Excellence Award 2026 by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This accolade was awarded for their exceptional work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project (Package C-2), particularly in the category of Biodiversity Management.

During the award ceremony held on October 9, 2026, in Chennai, members of the Afcons team, including Mr. Mihir Mishra, Vice President - CPE, and Mr. Sumon Paul, Assistant General Manager - HSE, proudly accepted the award among their colleagues.

The implementation of circular economy principles was pivotal in achieving the environmental excellence noted in their award submission. They successfully recycled concrete washout waste to reclaim sand, aggregates, and water. Additionally, they reused tunnel excavation in segment casting and treated tunnel wastewater before discharge, maximizing natural light through skylights to further reduce energy consumption. This multifaceted approach led to substantial reductions in resource consumption, waste production, and overall environmental impact.
