Fathers Beer Secures $2 Million Investment with Chef Robert Irvine as New Partner

Fathers Beer, a California-based brewery known for its commitment to producing organic clean lagers, has recently announced a significant funding round, securing $2 million just six months after its launch. This funding comes with the prominent backing of Chef Robert Irvine, who not only invested but has also stepped in as a strategic partner, bringing his extensive experience in the food and hospitality industry along with consumer brand development.

Chef Irvine expressed his enthusiasm for the brand, stating, "I've spent my career building businesses around products I believe in, and I'm incredibly selective about where I put my name, my time, and my money. What attracted me to Fathers wasn't just the beer, which is excellent; it was the people behind it, their commitment to quality, and their understanding of what it takes to build a real brand." He believes in the potential of Fathers Beer and intends to support the team in their growth journey.

The investment from Irvine is set to enhance Fathers Beer’s retail presence, allowing the brand to expand further across California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Since starting with a limited footprint, the company has rapidly grown its distribution network, moving from self-distribution in two counties to partnering with eight distributors covering 51 counties. This impressive growth includes the addition of over 300 retail locations in Philadelphia, just six weeks post-launch, with notable retailers such as ACME Albertsons, Costco, ShopRite, and Gopuff.

In California, the brand has successfully established itself in renowned retailers like Trader Joe's and Erewhon, expanding its reach to over 800 retail locations within half a year of its initial distribution efforts. The funds raised will be utilized for various marketing strategies, including consumer sampling, local events, retail activations, and targeted campaigns aimed at attracting new customers and building brand awareness.

Co-founder Joe Cloyes praised Irvine's decision to invest, viewing it as a resounding vote of confidence not just in the product but also in the company's potential. Cloyes, alongside his co-founder, Conor Begley, brings a wealth of experience in scaling consumer brands; Cloyes previously co-founded Youth To The People, which was acquired by L'Oréal after achieving significant revenue success, while Begley's prior venture, Tribe Dynamics, was acquired by CreatorIQ for $70 million.

Looking to the future, Fathers Beer also aims to initiate a cause-marketing collaboration with Irvine’s Robert Irvine Foundation, which focuses on supporting service members, veterans, and first responders, strengthening the company's community ties and commitment to social causes.

With a strong foundation and strategic backing, Fathers Beer is poised for continued growth, establishing itself as a notable player in the competitive beer market that increasingly values organic and quality options. Their mantra, "Clean Beer Tastes Better," reflects their dedication to transparency and quality in every sip while continuing the journey of expanding their brand presence in the beverage industry.
