Introduction
In response to the ongoing geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East, the importance of transitioning to a society less dependent on oil has become increasingly evident. Recognizing this urgent need, a new initiative named the "Resource and Energy Resilience Strengthening Program" has been launched by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aimed at accelerating the transformation of our energy structure. This program harnesses the innovative technologies developed by startups to promote resource conservation, energy efficiency, and resource recycling.
Overview of the Program
The program seeks to identify and support projects from the selected "SusHi Tech Global Startups" that aspire to drive significant changes in the energy and resource sectors. By providing tailored support and up to 200 million yen in funding for projects lasting a maximum of 18 months, the initiative will help implement new technologies into society, ultimately facilitating the construction of a sustainable urban environment.
Selection Criteria
The projects selected must meet several criteria:
1. They should significantly contribute to the structural transformation of resources and energy through the implementation of new technologies.
2. The initiatives must generate substantial economic and social impacts.
3. They should represent bold challenges effectively utilizing the funding provided by the program.
Support Details
The program will offer several types of assistance to facilitate the financial and practical needs of selected startups, including:
1.
Funding Support: Each selected project can receive up to 200 million yen.
2.
