Unveiling Criollo's Exciting Two-Month Matcha Fair Beginning April 2026

Criollo, a beloved confectionery brand based in Itabashi, Tokyo, is set to launch its annual Matcha Fair, significantly expanding its duration this year. From April 1 to May 31, 2026, the fair will be held at three exclusive locations: the flagship store in Kotake-Mukahiara, Nakameguro, and Azabudai Hills.

The fair features sweets crafted with high-quality matcha sourced from Nishi O, Aichi Prefecture, renowned for its deep green color and refined aroma. Guests can expect delightful twists on classic desserts, including a matcha-flavored take on their fan-favorite Phantom Cheesecake. As always, a range of seasonal flavors will be available to satisfy every palate.

A delicate cake combining three traditional Japanese ingredients: Japanese chestnut, matcha, and black syrup. It features an almond-flavored matcha sponge, layered with both chestnut and matcha cream, then enveloped in matcha chocolate with almonds. Availability: April only.

Matcha Choux - ¥560 (tax included)


This pastry boasts a crisp cookie-based shell filled with generous amounts of both fresh cream and custard cream, each infused with rich Nishi O matcha. Its simplicity lets the matcha flavor shine through beautifully.

Matcha Roulade - ¥630 (tax included)


A moist and fluffy matcha sponge roll, filled with aromatic matcha cream and house-made brown sugar warabi mochi. This dessert highlights the delightful chewy texture of the mochi, delightfully counterbalanced with a subtle sweetness and deep matcha fragrance.

CHA - ¥780 (tax included)


A dessert that artistically represents the Japanese tea ceremony, served in a matcha chocolate cup. It contains layers of matcha cream, hojicha jelly, matcha sponge, yuzu mochi, and matcha foam, all playfully garnished with a chocolate whisk. Availability: May only.

Black Syrup Matcha Pudding - ¥720 (tax included)


This pudding combines the richness of black syrup with a smooth texture topped with matcha cream and matcha mochi. The soft pudding melts in your mouth while the carefully crafted matcha mochi adds a chewy excitement, creating a complex and rich flavor profile.

Phantom Matcha Cheesecake - ¥1,980 (tax included)


The crowd’s favorite “Phantom Cheesecake” gets a matcha makeover! It charms with its airy, melt-in-the-mouth texture, and the exquisite harmony of creamy cheese with a refreshing matcha aroma leaves a gentle aftertaste.

This crispy and crumbly biscuit has an elegant matcha aroma, balanced with the rich taste and sweetness of butter and a hint of matcha bitterness with each bite, providing a deep flavor experience.

Limited-Time Item: Azabudai Brownie - Matcha - ¥400 (tax included)


Exclusive to Azabudai Hills, this rich matcha brownie combines aromatic matcha with chocolate sweetness, supplemented by crunchy pecans for an exciting texture.

Note: Matcha Marron and Black Syrup Matcha Pudding are not available at Nakameguro and Azabudai Hills.
