Ultra I&C Showcases Military Interoperability Innovations at Grey Flag 2024

In a significant demonstration of advanced military capabilities, Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C) marked a milestone at the Grey Flag 2024 maritime exercise held on January 14, 2025. The event highlighted next-generation maritime technologies aimed at enhancing interoperability among military services. This achievement is a culmination of years of research and development, demonstrating the company's commitment to advancing military operations.

Collaboration was a key theme in this exercise, with Ultra I&C partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA). This partnership enabled the deployment of the ADSI® platform, which was pivotal in facilitating critical communication and data operations necessary for military effectiveness.

Utilizing innovative communication methods, the ADSI platform successfully processed and disseminated data via JREAP-C and Starlink SATCOM networks. Moreover, the AI-enhanced ADSI RAIN™ feature played a critical role in augmenting data intelligence, providing operators with real-time insights needed for modern naval warfare.

According to Bradford Powell, president of Ultra IC's C2IE business division, “Through our collaboration with the U.S. Marine Corps, we're accelerating the deployment of breakthrough technologies that enable unmanned teaming integration.” His remarks underscore the importance of effective data sharing in today’s military landscape, where rapid decision-making can be crucial.

One of the standout features of Ultra I&C's demonstration was the seamless integration of edge computing solutions with unmanned sensors. This fusion allowed for the immediate transmission of tactical information back to operators, thereby significantly enhancing situational awareness during the exercise. The integration met the rigorous specifications set forth by the Office of Naval Research, further validating the operational capabilities of Ultra I&C's systems.

The success of the demonstration not only affirmed Ultra I&C's capacity to collaborate with existing military infrastructure but also showcased its proficiency in establishing robust data-sharing frameworks across a variety of platforms. This capability is increasingly vital for effective decision-making in contested environments and is essential for the future of joint maritime operations.

Ultra I&C has established itself as a leading player in the defense sector, specializing in tactical communications, command control, and cybersecurity technologies designed for the most demanding defense scenarios. The company has a long history of supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, the UK Ministry of Defence, and other allied nations, securing a strategic advantage in high-threat environments.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Ultra I&C is expanding its global reach with facilities worldwide. Its dedication to innovation continues to propel advancements in defense technology and operational effectiveness, ensuring that military forces are equipped with the best resources available for a rapidly evolving battlefield.
