OneOncology and OneR Present at ASCO 2026
In an exciting development for the oncology community, physicians from OneOncology partner practices, alongside the OneOncology Research Network (OneR), will present 23 abstracts at the upcoming American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting. This significant event will take place from May 29 to June 2, 2026, in Chicago, where members of the oncology research and treatment community will gather to discuss the latest advancements in cancer care.
The abstracts scheduled for presentation cover a broad spectrum of cancer types and therapeutic strategies, including those focused on lung, breast, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, hematological cancers, and even rare tumors. This variety illustrates the commitment of community oncology towards enhancing cancer research and patient care at all levels.
Dr. Ian Flinn, Chief Scientific Officer at OneOncology, shared insights into the breadth of research being undertaken. He emphasized that each presentation is a testament to the quality of investigation carried out at OneOncology-affiliated practices. He stated, “The presentations reflect the depth and quality of research being conducted at OneOncology-affiliated practices, and the deep commitment of OneR investigators to bringing the latest research to clinical trials to patients in their communities.” This highlights the network's dual aim: to provide top-notch care while simultaneously pioneering new therapies and models in the realm of oncology.
Among the key themes emerging from the research presentations are:
Advancing Precision Oncology
A significant number of studies will delve into novel targeted therapies and combinations of immunotherapy tailored for biomarker-defined populations, specifically targeting conditions such as KRAS G12C mutations and EGFR mutations in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), HER2-positive tumors, as well as cancers with MTAP deletions.
Expanding Access and Equity
The commitment to fostering inclusivity in clinical trials takes center stage this year. OneOncology's investigators are developing strategies to improve clinical trial participation through enhanced representative enrollment while also accounting for social determinants of health. This principal rule aims to ensure innovations in cancer treatment benefit all patient demographics.
Innovating Care Delivery
Several abstracts explore pragmatic solutions to better patient outcomes through pragmatic methodologies. Notably, the national rollout of electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs), real-world treatment analyses, and the employment of artificial intelligence in clinical decision-making are among the practical advancements being discussed.
Dr. Victor T. G. Lin, the Medical Director of Clinical Research and Genetics at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, highlighted the immense importance of increasing access to clinical trials. “Expanding access to clinical trials is central to our mission of improving survivorship and lessening the burden of cancer,” he stated. His institution aims to provide local patients in Louisiana and southwest Mississippi with convenient access to cutting-edge research and next-generation therapies, thus eliminating the usual long-distance travel for advanced cancer treatment.
As OneR solidifies its role as a high-performing community-based site management research network, it continues to showcase its increasing influence. With 15 active practices, 92 activated trials in 2025, and an astonishing 260 percent growth in trial accruals, OneR is making remarkable strides in advancing community-based cancer care.
