Staypineapple Makes International Dog Day a Week of Caring with Bark Week Initiative

Staypineapple’s Bark Week: A Celebration of Dogs and Giving

International Dog Day, held on August 26, is an occasion to honor our canine companions. However, this year, Staypineapple, a national boutique hotel brand, is expanding the celebration into a week-long tribute known as Bark Week, running from August 24 to 30, 2026.

Staypineapple is renowned for its pet-friendly accommodations and is using this initiative to give back to local wildlife organizations. Throughout Bark Week, the company will generously donate 100% of all pet fees collected from reservations made during this time to the Seattle Humane society. This collaboration aims to support shelter animals and advance the organization's mission of finding loving homes for pets in need.

A Week for Dogs
As Dina Belon, President of Staypineapple, stated, "Dogs have always been an important part of the Staypineapple experience, so we thought they deserved more than just one day." She continued to emphasize the company's longstanding commitment to Seattle Humane, highlighting the opportunity Bark Week presents to deepen that support and celebrate the furry guests who stay with them.

During this week, stay at any of Staypineapple's hotels in Seattle—including The Maxwell Hotel, Hotel FIVE, Watertown Hotel, and University Inn—and not only enjoy quality lodging but also contribute to a noble cause. Additionally, guests and the local community are invited to donate unopened pet food and treats at these locations. In exchange for their contributions, donors will receive a free pineapple dog toy from the Staypineapple mascot, Toby Linus, while supplies last.

Community Spirit and Volunteer Work
Staypineapple's commitment extends beyond just financial contributions. The hotel's team members will dedicate a day to volunteer at Seattle Humane, participating in activities like packaging delivery orders for the Pet Food Bank to aid community members in need. Nicole Collin, Corporate Relations Manager at Seattle Humane, expressed gratitude for Staypineapple's efforts, noting the positive impact they make on the lives of animals throughout the region.

Bark to School Event
The festivities will culminate in a special event called Bark to School, a free dog-friendly charity gathering on August 29 at The Maxwell Hotel. This event, aimed at benefiting Seattle Humane, will provide fun activities where dog owners can have their pets photographed in school-themed Polaroids by Clooney Dog Friends and Joybird Studios. Attendees can also watch live pet portraits being created by artist Dozfy and enjoy coloring sheets featuring illustrations of adoptable dogs from Seattle Humane created by artist Sie-ce.

Seattle Humane will be on-site during the event to collect donations and share insights about adoptable pets and other important resources. This encounter creates a sense of community while spotlighting the importance of animal rescues.

Paws on Payroll
Further showcasing its love for pets, Staypineapple is launching a new program titled "Paws on Payroll". This initiative will feature the resident hotel dogs who welcome guests, enriching their stay with unforgettable experiences. Through their social media channels, Staypineapple will highlight these remarkable canine team members alongside its partnerships, including collaborations with Zoundz, an app designed for pet sound therapy, and VEG ER for Pets, an emergency veterinary provider with locations near Staypineapple hotels.

If you'd like to support this heartwarming initiative or perhaps reserve a stay during Bark Week, visit the Staypineapple website for more details. Together, let’s celebrate our furry friends and turn love for dogs into actionable support for shelter animals in need.
