Autumn Afternoon Tea at Kichijoji Excel Hotel Tokyu
Kichijoji Excel Hotel Tokyu, located in Musashino City, Tokyo, is set to host a limited-time autumn afternoon tea experience from September 1 to November 30, 2026. This delightful event, held in the lounge and dining area known as SORAE, showcases the rich flavors of fall, featuring exquisite treats made with fresh chestnuts, Shine Muscat grapes, and sweet potatoes.
A Culinary Celebration of Autumn
The highlight of the afternoon tea is the
chestnut mont blanc, made with high-quality Japanese chestnuts that lend a rich aroma and refined sweetness. Each layer features hidden treasures of chestnut puree, custard cream, and whipped cream, providing a complex taste experience with every bite. Alongside this star dessert, guests can indulge in a variety of other seasonal delights such as the
brown sugar and warabi mochi verrine, creamy pannacotta paired with black sugar jelly,
maple sweet potato cupcakes, and a luxurious
Shine Muscat tart with a crispy tart shell.
Savory items complement the sweet offerings, including a tart filled with chestnuts and Boursin garlic, roast beef and apple skewers, tuna and smoked salmon sandwiches, a pumpkin salad with prosciutto, and a rich mushroom soup. The balance of flavors ensures a delightful harmony between the sweet and savory elements, all while emphasizing the natural tastes of the ingredients.
A Refreshing Welcome Drink
At the beginning of the tea experience, guests will be treated to a welcome mocktail inspired by sangria. This refreshing drink combines grape juice and tonic water, offering a unique hint of bitterness complemented by the refreshing scents of orange and lemon, setting the perfect tone for a cozy autumn afternoon tea.
Exquisite Tea Pairings
Pair your afternoon treats with an array of premium teas from the renowned Kichijoji tea store,
Gclef. Their selection includes a variety of exquisite flavors, carefully chosen to enhance the chestnut and autumn delicacies. Tea enthusiasts can enjoy a diverse range of options such as Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Jasmine, Assam, and seasonal blends.
Tea Pairing Recommendations:
- - Assam Tea: Complements the rich flavor of the chestnut mont blanc and maple sweet potato cupcake, enhancing the depth of autumnal taste.
