Historic Event: 2025 World Jump Rope Championships
The International Jump Rope Union (IJRU) has officially announced that the
2025 World Jump Rope Championships will be held for the first time ever in Japan from
July 27 to August 3, 2025. The venue for this remarkable event is the
Kawasaki city’s Caluts Kawasaki which is set to welcome over
2,000 athletes from more than 30 countries, marking the largest participation for the event to date. This championship symbolizes a strong partnership among IJRU, the
Japan Jump Rope Union (JJRU), and the city of Kawasaki, showcasing the international appeal and diversity of jump rope as a sport.

The IJRU: An Overview
The
International Jump Rope Union (IJRU) serves as the governing body for jump rope (single rope and double dutch) competitions worldwide. With a focus on inclusion, IJRU is currently applying for AIMS (a non-IOC recognized sport association) membership and previously held observer qualifications with GAISF. The organization's goal is to have jump rope included in future Olympic competitions, dedicating efforts towards spreading and developing this sport on a global scale. Established through the integration of the
International Rope Skipping Federation (FISAC-IRSF) and the
World Jump Rope Federation (WJRF), IJRU has a rich history of hosting championship events with 21 world championships to date.
