This year, the awards received submissions from 44 companies featuring 350 products, competing in nine categories: Educational, Kidult, Basic, Variety, Action, Digital, Character, Game & Puzzle, and Co-Play Toys. Each category awarded one Grand Prize (totaling nine) and four Excellence Prizes (totaling 36). Additionally, a Hit Sales Award and two Special Awards were given to recognize outstanding market performance and innovation.

During his opening remarks, Maeda Michihiro, president of the Japan Toy Association, emphasized the industry's commitment to creating valuable play experiences. He stated, "The toy industry is fiercely dedicated to value creation, aiming to create toys that experts deem remarkable while also appealing to market trends." His insights reflect the unwavering dedication to nurturing a vibrant toy market.

Fujii Daisuke, a specialist on the committee, provided an overview of the 2025 toy market and emerging trends. Fujii noted that this year's market continues to grow, marking five consecutive years of expansion, with forecasts predicting a market size exceeding one trillion yen in the fiscal year 2024.
