Riverside Research's Recognition
In September 2025, Riverside Research proudly announced that its Veterans' Employee Resource Group (VERG) has been awarded the title of Veteran Employee Resource Group of the Year by the Northern Virginia Chamber (NVC). This esteemed accolade is bestowed upon employee resource groups that have made a significant impact within their organizations and the wider community, particularly in support of veterans.
The VERG at Riverside Research serves as a vital platform that fosters unity among veterans and their allies throughout the company. Its mission focuses on creating a supportive environment where camaraderie can flourish, alongside undertaking initiatives that directly benefit veterans and their families.
In 2025 alone, the group has successfully orchestrated several events aimed at honoring veterans, including receptions for veterans arriving on honor flights in Washington, D.C. These emotionally charged gatherings allow veterans to revisit significant memorials while reconnecting with fellow service members—a community-building experience tailored to honor their sacrifices. Furthermore, the group has gone the extra mile by writing and delivering over 50 heartfelt letters of appreciation, ensuring veterans realize their contributions are treasured and acknowledged.
Larry Johnson, Chair of the VERG and an Air Force veteran, expressed his heartfelt sentiments, stating, "I am so humbled and honored by the dedication, efforts, and support consistently displayed by our Veterans' Employee Resource Group, which includes both veterans and non-veterans. There’s nothing quite like watching our VERG members in action, whether they’re serving their local community or leading initiatives across multiple locations. The pride and emotion they inspire is often enough to make team members tear up."
In addition to the group's recognition, Johnson himself was nominated as a finalist for the NVC Veteran Employee of the Year, underscoring his unwavering commitment to supporting veterans, both within Riverside Research and beyond. Dr. Steven Omick, the President and CEO of Riverside Research, commented on the impact made by the VERG: "Our VERG has made a tremendous impact on Riverside Research and on the many veterans who work here. The VERG’s continued dedication to service and mission exemplifies the spirit of giving within Riverside Research. We are so happy to be able to support veteran employees as they transition from military service to the workforce, and our VERG is a supportive place and a terrific resource."
Recognized for its commendable efforts, Riverside Research has also been awarded the prestigious HIREVets Gold Medallion in 2024, further validating its commitment to veteran hiring and support. Veterans seeking employment can find valuable resources through Riverside Research’s careers page, showcasing a dedicated military section designed to cater to their needs as they integrate into civilian life.
