It is a correspondence high school where students can explore their interests and engage in meaningful dialogue. Through its online format, students are encouraged to delve into intriguing subjects. One such initiative is the “After School Laboratory: The World is Made of Science.” This engaging program is held every Friday, where Wao's science teachers share fascinating discussions. From the secrets hidden in everyday plants to the grand narratives of historical numbers, the sessions aim to stimulate intellectual curiosity. Regardless of your affinity for science or math, you are welcome to join these delightful explorations every Friday evening.

New Educators Join the Team

As we head towards the 2025 academic year, Wao High School welcomes two esteemed educators, Yuutarou-sensei and Kengo-sensei, and introduces an exciting new addition, Mayu-sensei. With their diverse expertise, they promise to broaden the scope of knowledge shared during these online events. Everyone, particularly middle and high school students, is encouraged to participate and expand their understanding of science.

Upcoming Events

1. “Everything is Made of Particles? How Atomic Theory Changed Our View of the World”

Date: May 30, 18:00 - 19:00
In this session, we will dive into the foundations of atomic theory. Starting with the ancient Greek philosopher Democritus, who posited that all matter is composed of indivisible particles, we will explore how this idea evolved into modern scientific thought over two millennia, changing our worldview through pivotal revolutions in chemistry and physics. Join Yuutarou-sensei as we unravel the historical development of atomic theory and its profound implications on our understanding of matter.

2. “The Invisible Struggle! Plants' Survival Strategies”

Date: June 27, 18:00 - 19:00
Mayu-sensei will take us on an enlightening journey into the unseen battles that plants face every day. Despite their seemingly tranquil existence, plants engage in fierce competition for survival. This session will focus on the fascinating yet ruthless tactics employed by parasitic plants that cling to their hosts, ultimately illustrating the delicate balance of nature and what it means to survive. Explore the evolution of dependence in the plant kingdom and understand the darker aspects of nature through a scientific lens.
