Tokyo Seikatsu Club and Setagaya Ward's Carbon Neutrality Forum
On February 7, 2026, the Tokyo Seikatsu Club will host a special forum to celebrate the signing of a collaboration agreement with Setagaya Ward aimed at achieving carbon neutrality. This event will focus on local energy transformation and building a sustainable society.
The forum will feature a keynote speech by Professor Makoto Kaneko, a distinguished emeritus professor from Keio University, followed by a panel discussion with notable figures, including Setagaya Mayor Nobuto Hosaka and Tetsuya Iida, Director of the Environmental Energy Policy Research Institute. Attendees can participate in person or join online via Zoom. With free admission, everyone is welcome to contribute to the conversation about creating a more sustainable future.
During the forum, the Tokyo Seikatsu Club will also introduce its new initiative, "Machi-naka Citizen Solar," aimed at promoting solar energy in Setagaya. This initiative allows residents to jointly purchase home solar panel and battery sets, with support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
New Initiative: Machi-naka Citizen Solar
This initiative targets Setagaya residents and facilitates the joint purchase of home solar panels and battery systems, leveraging subsidies available from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Participants can reduce their CO₂ emissions through self-generated power and the acquisition of renewable energy while sharing surplus electricity through Seikatsu Club Energy. This promotes local energy circulation and contributes to community sustainability.
