Infosys and Telstra Team Up for Strategic Joint Venture in Australia

Infosys and Telstra Join Forces to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Australia

In an exciting development for the tech industry, Infosys, a leader in digital services and consulting, has announced a strategic joint venture with Telstra, Australia’s top telecommunications and technology company. This partnership aims to empower businesses across Australia by accelerating their digital transformation journeys through innovative AI-enabled cloud solutions.

Lasting change is underway as Infosys takes a decisive step by acquiring a 75% stake in Versent Group, a subsidiary of Telstra and Australia’s premier provider of digital transformation solutions. This collaboration is positioned to leverage the strengths of both companies: Infosys will bring its extensive global experience, while Telstra will contribute its deep local insights and strong telecommunications infrastructure. This arrangement reflects Telstra’s steadfast commitment to growth, maintaining a 25% stake in Versent Group, a move that showcases its confidence in the collaborative potential ahead.

Strengthening Local Expertise

Versent Group is renowned for its cloud strategy expertise and its record of helping enterprises successfully implement digital transformation. With a robust team of 650 skilled engineers and advisors scattered across Australia, it has established itself as a trusted partner for large corporations in critical sectors like government, education, finance, energy, and utilities.

Through this joint venture, Infosys will enhance Versent Group's cloud and digital transformation capabilities using its advanced AI technologies and consulting services. By integrating the offerings of Infosys Topaz, a suite designed to harness AI’s transformative potential, and Infosys Cobalt, a collection of cloud solutions, the partnership aims to deliver remarkable value to clients and speed up the digital transformation efforts of Australian businesses.

Previous Collaborations Pave the Way

Prior to this joint venture, Infosys had already entered into a multi-year partnership with Telstra in 2024, aimed at revolutionizing software engineering and IT transformation, thereby improving customer experiences. In 2025, they further collaborated with Telstra International to advance technological innovation in line with Telstra's initiatives for a connected future.

These strategic earlier collaborations lay a solid foundation for this joint venture, ensuring a seamless integration of technologies and expertise to drive technology-led transformations for enterprises in Australia.

Shared Vision for a Digital Future

Vicki Brady, CEO of Telstra, expressed optimism about this venture, stating, "Our collaboration with Infosys reflects our confidence in the value we can unlock together. Their global scale, deep industry knowledge, and culture of innovation and service excellence will be instrumental in accelerating Versent Group's growth and impact across the region."

Echoing these sentiments, Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, shared his enthusiasm, saying, "We are excited to bring Infosys Topaz™ to enable transformative AI-first capabilities alongside Versent Group's cloud-first digital foundation. Expanding our trusted collaboration with Telstra unveils a new opportunity to accelerate innovation for enterprises across the region."

Positive Outlook for Australian Enterprises

The anticipation surrounding the joint venture's potential is palpable. Oliver Camplin-Warner, Group Executive for Telstra Enterprise, highlighted the excitement ahead, noting that this partnership would allow them to create a unique proposition that fosters growth and innovation for Australian enterprises in today’s fast-paced, AI-driven digital arena.

Anand Swaminathan, Executive Vice President at Infosys, added, "By combining our global leadership in digital services with Telstra’s strong brand, we are uniquely positioned to deliver secure and resilient cloud and AI solutions tailored to the digital needs of Australia and New Zealand. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to accelerating AI-led innovation and fostering a more connected, intelligent digital future for the region."

As Infosys prepares to welcome Versent Group and its leadership into its fold, this joint venture is set to make waves in Australia’s tech landscape, reaffirming the significance of strategic partnerships in the pursuit of technological excellence.
