In June 2026, the Toshima Future Cultural Foundation organized an enriching workshop entitled "A Luxurious Journey of Mizuhiki Tying" at the Komagome Community Cultural Center. Building upon last year’s success, this year's program was designed to enhance skills progressively, starting from the fundamental 'Awaji knot' and advancing to the three-dimensional 'Awaji ball' and the classic 'Ume knot.' Participants engaged in hands-on activities that allowed them to produce beautiful, functional pieces such as bottle markers, pouches, and decorative paper arrangements.

Participants enjoyed a tranquil atmosphere where they could explore the deeper meanings behind the various knots, including their symbolic associations with protection and connection. They also learned about the seasonal traditions dictating the use of these knots in Japanese culture, all while embracing a meditative crafting experience that allowed them to escape from daily life.

The five-part curriculum was meticulously designed. Each session built upon the previous one, allowing participants to develop their skills at a comfortable pace. The intimate class size of 16 ensured that Yamaguchi could provide personalized guidance, creating a focused environment for meaningful learning.

After the course, positive sentiments emerged from participant surveys. An impressive 93% of attendees rated the content as excellent, while 87% appreciated Yamaguchi's clarity in instruction. Almost 87% expressed a desire to continue engaging with future community courses.
