Illuminate Your Holiday Spirit at Tokyo Square Garden's Eco-Friendly Winter Illumination Event

Experience the Magic of Winter Illumination at Tokyo Square Garden

Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. is excited to announce the "2025 Tokyo Square Garden Winter Illumination" event set to take place from November 6, 2025, to January 31, 2026. This spectacular event will transform the Tokyo Kyobashi area with one of the largest holiday light displays, featuring approximately 170,000 LED bulbs, all powered by 100% renewable energy sources.

A Sustainable Holiday Experience

The 2025 event continues the tradition of sustainability, aiming to minimize environmental impact by reutilizing LED lights, decorations, and a beautifully designed Christmas tree every year. Unlike typical holiday events, this one emphasizes a commitment to the environment, showcasing how festive joy can be combined with responsible practices.

Starting from 2022, the illumination features the stunning Artist Collaboration Tree, a project showcasing unique ornaments crafted by artists. This year, the Christmas tree's design, titled "When Silence Becomes Light, Connecting with Transparency," is created by the talented photographer Mao Kokubu, who utilizes acrylic materials to produce captivating photo ornaments. This innovative method, referred to as "Photo Acrylic," allows the photographs encapsulated within to change their expressions depending on light, the passage of time, and viewing angles, giving each observer a fresh perspective.

The ornaments will be available to visitors post-event, allowing them to take home a piece of art and engage in a sustainable practice by reducing waste. Interested attendees will need to register in advance to partake in this unique distribution event.

Artistic Innovations and Community Engagement

Each year, Tokyo Square Garden collaborates with artists to create the Artist Collaboration Tree. Photographer Mao Kokubu’s statement emphasizes the enchanting nature of transparency through layered memories captured in photographs. Visitors are invited to experience these emotions echoed through the artwork.

In addition to the installation, an ornament distribution event is planned, where visitors can receive the decorated pieces directly from the artist, fostering a deeper connection with the art and its narrative. Further details regarding this event will be announced on Tokyo Square Garden's official site and Mao Kokubu’s social media account around late October 2025.

Eco-Conscious Lighting Initiatives

Tokyo Square Garden strives for eco-friendly practices throughout its winter illuminations. Since 2023, initiatives have included using second-hand fabrics and leftover materials for ornaments, while the 2024 exhibition featured frames made from surplus building materials. These imaginative approaches are designed to reduce environmental footprints and promote sustainability while retaining the beauty and magic of the holiday season.

In conclusion, mark your calendars for this enchanting festivity at Tokyo Square Garden, where tradition meets sustainability, creating a memorable experience for all visitors. Join us as we light up Kyobashi with joy, creativity, and care for the environment!
