Takeru Amano's Latest Exhibition: ICONS
On July 24, 2026, the Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore in GINZA SIX will unveil the solo exhibition titled "ICONS," featuring the extraordinary works of artist Takeru Amano. This exhibition offers an immersion into a vivid world where everyday symbols are transformed into universal art, showcasing Amano's unique perspective and creative lens.
The cornerstone of this exhibition is the art book aptly named "ICONS." Within its pages, Amano captures various motifs that dwell within everyday scenes and memories, defining them as "icons." Through striking colors and clear lines, he translates these symbols onto canvas, allowing viewers to engage with them in a new light.
Amano's exploration delves into the multitude of images and symbols that populate contemporary society, including figures, characters, professions, and cultural imagery. These symbols evolve over time, acquiring meaning within different eras and societies, and become memorable markers in people's lives. Rather than merely depicting signs, Amano breathes life into these icons, portraying them as entities full of charm and narrative. He seeks to explore the modern concept of what an icon truly represents in our dynamic world.
The artist has expressed a heartfelt desire to create artworks that resonate with and assist others. This pure intention transcends national and cultural boundaries, transforming into universal images that touch hearts everywhere.
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience Takeru Amano's new vision of "icons" amidst the special atmosphere of summer in Ginza.
