Celebrating Kabuki: The Special Train Event
In anticipation of the exciting kabuki performance titled "独道中五十三驛" (Hitoritabi Gojusantsugi), a special themed train has begun its journey on the Toyoko Line. This collaboration involves three leading companies: Tokyu Cultural Village, TST Entertainment, and Tokyu Corporation, with the performance set to premiere on May 3, 2026, at THEATER MILANO-Za in Kabukicho, Tokyo.
An Enchanted Ride Through Kabuki
Starting from April 7, 2026, the Toyoko Line will feature a train adorned with vibrant advertisements celebrating the upcoming kabuki show. The entire interior of the train is decorated with visuals of the characters from the performance, including the striking "猫の怪" (Cat Monster) played by 市川中車 (Ichikawa Chusho) and "丹波与八郎" (Tanba Yuhachiro) portrayed by 市川團子 (Ichikawa Dando). This immersive experience is designed to engage kabuki enthusiasts and newcomers alike throughout the train's journey.
The train also showcases two mini-interview videos featuring市川團子, giving riders a sneak peek into the world of the performance and enhancing their excitement as they travel.
