Navigating Chaos in Education AI: A Path Forward for Quality Learning Materials

Addressing Chaos in Education AI Era

As we stand on the brink of significant transformation in education, the advent of AI technologies is revolutionizing how we approach learning materials. Automatic generation of educational content is becoming a tangible option, spurred by advancements in generative AI. However, as the volume of these educational materials increases, the confusion surrounding which materials to use and what learners can gain from them becomes palpable. Ensuring quality management and design of these materials presents new challenges that educators must navigate.

The Upcoming Conference: Insights and Innovations

On January 23, 2026, Digital Knowledge, Japan’s first dedicated e-learning solutions provider celebrating its 30th anniversary, will host the Digital Knowledge New Year Conference 2026. This event will tackle the theme of confronting the chaos of the education AI era through a special lecture, focusing on a strategic perspective for design and regulation in this new landscape.

At the conference, participants will gain insights into the world dynamics that will underpin the increasingly important intersection of education and AI.

Featured Keynote: Transforming Learning Materials with AI

One of the highlights will be a presentation by Hiroaki Haga, president of Digital Knowledge, introducing three pivotal initiatives to fulfill the "AI Roadmap for Educational Materials". The strategies include:
1. Automated Generation of Educational Materials: Utilizing generative AI to produce course materials based on foundational knowledge.
2. Organization of Education Systems: Implementing the Digital Knowledge ID Map to streamline educational resources.
3. Quality Control through AI: Establishing mechanisms to ensure the quality and efficacy of educational content.

As the paradigm shifts from mere implementation of education AI to a more thoughtful approach involving design and control, Haga emphasizes the importance of focusing not just on how to increase the quantity of materials, but on how to organize and manage them effectively.

Special Lecture: Global Trends in EdTech Standards

Additionally, a renowned speaker from the Japan EdTech Association, Takahiro Hatta, will discuss the latest trends in education technology standards on a global scale, including the potential of AI technologies such as EdGPT. This session will delve into how these innovations can realize personalized learning experiences that ensure inclusivity for all learners.

Hatta will outline international case studies that illustrate the promising directions in which global education is heading, examining how new standards can facilitate the optimization of learning experiences for every student.

Conference Logistics

This highly anticipated conference will be held from 14:00 to 17:30 at the Akihabara venue, with a capacity for 20 attendees in-person and 200 online, subject to first-come, first-served registration until full. Entry is free of charge, but prior registration is required.

By attending, educators and stakeholders will be able to better grasp the significant shifts and challenges that come with the rise of generative AI in education.
