Bar Hotel Hakone Kōzan, operated by Shimada Group in Hakone, Kanagawa, has teamed up with Far Yeast Brewing of Yamanashi Prefecture to create a one-of-a-kind craft bottled cocktail, ‘CASUAL SIPS Aroma of Plum’. This launch marks the celebration of the hotel's seven years of service, delivering a fragrant experience like no other.

The Spark of Inspiration

The inception of this collaboration can be traced back to a serendipitous encounter at the bar. Bar Hotel Hakone Kōzan was initially exploring the creation of an original bottled cocktail, but faced the challenge of finding a manufacturer due to liquor licensing issues. During a visit to the hotel, members of Far Yeast Brewing engaged with the hotel's staff about bottled cocktails; an exciting exchange that led to the introduction of their distillation department. Thus began the journey of development, not only focusing on taste but also ensuring that every aspect of the design, materials, regulation compliance, and labeling was meticulously addressed with the expertise of Far Yeast Brewing.

Crafting the Cocktail

The result of this collaboration is the delightful ‘CASUAL SIPS Aroma of Plum’, a cocktail that combines a unique spirit from Off Trail – Azeotrope by Far Yeast Brewing with the essence of plums from the foot of Mount Hakone. This special plum cocktail can only be experienced at Bar Hotel Hakone Kōzan, making it a truly unique offering. Guests are invited to indulge in this miraculous drink that blossomed from a spontaneous conversation at the bar.

Exclusive Preview and Enjoyment

Beginning September 16, guests staying at Bar Hotel Hakone Kōzan can be among the first to enjoy this cocktail in a free-flow setup at the hotel’s lounge, ‘the bar’. This immersive experience allows guests to relish in the refined environment adorned with art while enjoying the cocktail's rich flavors. Check-in starts at 6 PM, and the bar service is included in the accommodation fee, offering a selection of drinks for an unforgettable evening.
