Grand Opening Ceremony of TOKYO DREAM PARK: A New Era of Entertainment Begins

TOKYO DREAM PARK: A New Entertainment Hub Brought to Life

On March 25, 2026, TV Asahi held a grand opening ceremony for its new multifaceted entertainment facility, TOKYO DREAM PARK, located in Ariake, Tokyo. With the concept "It Starts from Passion," this project is set to redefine entertainment experiences in the region.

The launch of TOKYO DREAM PARK marks a key project in TV Asahi's media city strategy, initiated under the recognition that "the source of all value lies in content." The establishment is also a part of their new management plan, "START UP TV Asahi!! Management Plan 2026-2029," aimed at fostering innovation and creating a business base for future growth.

The opening ceremony was an impressive affair attended by notable guests, including Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, Dentsu President Katsumi Sano, and Toyota Alvark Tokyo Chairman Shigeru Hayakawa. During the ceremony, TV Asahi Holdings' Chairman, Yoji Hayakawa, expressed gratitude to all involved and shared the vision behind TOKYO DREAM PARK.

Chairman Hayakawa noted that the project began six years earlier, aligning with Tokyo's future waterfront urban city plan introduced in 2020. With television ad revenue growth stagnating, he articulated the strategic need to develop new business avenues that would support TV Asahi's future.

Despite achieving high viewer ratings for two consecutive years, TV Asahi recognizes the necessity to set new benchmarks for success. Drawing upon over 65 years of expertise in entertainment programming, including shows like Music Station and the 2013 EX Theater venue, the park aims to innovate by merging entertainment with digital technology.

He emphasized that entertainment goes beyond mere amusement; it embodies hospitality and engagement, which they intend to offer to audiences through the numerous productions and collaborations envisioned for TOKYO DREAM PARK. Thanks to swift support from various production companies and artists, many events for the park's two theaters are already fully booked for the upcoming year.

The opening ceremony featured a traditional Japanese drum performance by Eitetsu Hayashi and a vibrant visual showcase that explored the facility via a live broadcast. Videos introduced various completed sections of the venue, starting from above the Tokyo Waterfront area.

Celebrity messages from notable figures such as Tetsuko Kuroyanagi and Sandwich Man added to the celebratory atmosphere, bringing excitement to the event.
