Palladium Global Science Award 2026 Calls for Innovations in Palladium Applications

Palladium Global Science Award 2026

The Palladium Global Science Award (PGSA) has officially announced the launch of its second international competition dedicated to discovering new applications for palladium, with an impressive prize pool of $350,000 for groundbreaking solutions. Submissions are accepted from March 2 to July 31, 2026, via their official site, palladiumaward.com.

Established in 2025, the PGSA aims to serve as a global platform to identify and support transformative scientific and technological breakthroughs utilizing palladium—a metal renowned for its exceptional catalytic properties, hydrogen absorption capabilities, oxidation resistance, high electrical conductivity, and magnetic susceptibility. The award honors scientific achievements, research articles, and applicable concepts that leverage palladium in innovative ways, making technologies more efficient, cost-effective, and ready for large-scale implementation in various industries.

Participants will compete in three categories: Best Scientific Achievement, Best Research Paper, and Best Application Concept. An International Expert Council, composed of leading scientists and experts from renowned universities and research institutions worldwide, will evaluate the submissions. The general partner of this international scientific competition is the China Precious Metals Industry Committee.

Professor Francis Verpoort, the chair of the International Expert Council, emphasized the symbolic importance of launching the second edition of this award during a time when the world increasingly relies on groundbreaking technologies. He stated, "Palladium possesses unique properties that facilitate the creation of innovative solutions across energy, chemistry, medicine, environmental technologies, and high-tech sectors. This competition's aim is to identify and support scientists and researchers globally whose work transcends laboratory confines, reshaping industries and shaping the future of technology."

In its inaugural year, the competition attracted 100 project submissions from over 30 countries. Noteworthy winners included five outstanding scientists from Canada, Japan, India, the United States, and Saudi Arabia, presenting projects on organic chemistry, drug development, eco-friendly methanol production, and water purification. For 2026, the organizers anticipate an influx of more submissions and interest from an even broader array of countries.

The competition welcomes applications from scientists, researchers, engineers, startups, and R&D teams globally. For more details or to submit entries, interested candidates can visit the official website of the Palladium Global Science Award at www.palladiumaward.com.
