In a pivotal move for its future, Meade Engineering has officially welcomed Amit Sahdev, PE, as its new Chief Operating Officer. Sahdev's journey with the company began on October 19, 2026, and he will be relocating from Houston to Tempe, Arizona, to take the reins of the engineering organization.

A Veteran Leader in Engineering

Sahdev brings over two decades of extensive technical and operational leadership experience to Meade Engineering. In his initial role as COO, he will focus on implementing technical standards and ensuring fluid coordination and consistency in project delivery. However, his responsibilities will evolve over time, reflecting a broader vision for the firm.

The search for a leader specifically for the engineering division was initially defined by Meade Engineering. As the process unfolded, it became increasingly evident that Sahdev's vast expertise warranted an expansion of the position to encompass the role of Chief Operating Officer. “We were very intentional about finding the right leader,” stated John Meade, the CEO of Meade Engineering. “The standards we set were high, and the timing was not rushed.”

Impressive Experience

With a rich background in managing large engineering organizations and overseeing intricate projects, Sahdev has previously excelled in high-stakes environments. At Shermco Industries, which is under the umbrella of Blackstone, he directly managed a portfolio exceeding $100 million while leading a team of 230 engineers across numerous sites in the United States and Canada. His expertise spans multiple sectors, including data centers, semiconductors, renewable energy, utilities, and other vital infrastructure areas.

Prior to his previous role, Sahdev served as a partner at LJA Engineering, where he contributed significantly to the firm’s automation and electrical division. He was instrumental in integrating AI tools and participated in the standards committee that shaped their application. His efforts have helped deliver numerous multimillion-dollar projects related to water, wastewater, energy, transportation, and public works, while also establishing quality assurance protocols across engineering divisions to ensure consistent execution.

Academic Foundation

Amit Sahdev holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. This solid academic foundation complements his professional experience, positioning him to lead Meade Engineering effectively.
